Dallas Morning News By MARIO TARRADELL July 2008
''Sammy Sadler's Heart Shaped Like Texas reminds me of the warmth and honesty country-pop music had in the lateOn ther '70s and early '80s, before megabucks and megasales turned much of it into slick rock disguised as country. Plus, Mr. Sadler's voice is so wonderfully reminiscent of Steve Wariner. When he sings ''I'll Always Have Denver,'' a song composed by Mr. Wariner and Bill Anderson, it sounds like it was meant for him to croon.'' Mario Tarradell, The Dallas Morning News

An album that absolutely needs your attention. - Countrystartpage.com
"Trying To Get The Girl"

—It’s an easy-going, easy-grooving, slightly-bluesy and light hearted ditty that goes down smooth. Pleasant and catchy.

Sammy Sadler should be a star already, and his new single proves it.
By John Lewis

Why, oh why hasn't Sammy Sadler broken into the big time? His album, "Heart Shaped Like Texas" is superb and his new single, "Trying To Get The Girl" is yet more proof of that.
It IS true that occasionally, Sadler misses a note, but don't dismiss him because of that. Guys who give songs their all, sometimes do, and Sadler gives this everything.
It's Sadler's delivery which make this a potential hit. He sounds like he means it, and that takes talent.
The lyrics are superb - this guy went to college, not to better himself, but because he was trying to "get the girl". He got the guitar for the same reason.
My View: This could be Sadler's break-out single.

Sammy Sadler - "A Heart Shaped Like Texas"
With talent like this, I wonder why I haven't heard more from Sammy. He has the voice and the right overall sound,
so let's see how far he can make it on the charts. Jennifer Webb

SAMMY SADLER/Heart Shaped Like Texas
This guy is an absolutely great country singer and has never sounded better than he does here.
The production is right on the money, so the record sounds terrific.

“Sammy Sadler may have a “Heart Shaped Like Texas” but he’s got a song molded to fit country radio everywhere. Having played his music since the late 80’s, I consider Sammy Sadler to be a true pioneer in the world of today’s Independent artists and it’s great to have him back where he belongs…on the radio.” Mike Thomas, KFAV
